Nothing is hidden from God’s sight—that is very good news. Whatever is happening in our lives, we can talk to God about it and He has an answer. We can turn to Him. Foes were coming against Solomon during this time, but the Bible explained exactly why. The specificity of this cause came out of Solomon’s heart and his behavior after that. His heart went after majority three foreign gods, which God commanded the Israelites and Solomon directly, not to go after. Reading 1 Kings 10-11 teaches us to humble ourselves and not pretend like we don’t have something that we don’t need to bring before God and say, “God, you know all things and I humble myself before you.” And, “God have mercy on me. Show me the errors of my ways that you know I can do something about, but because of my attitude, I haven’t been showing you that I am willing to….’Change my heart, O God. Make it ever true. Change my heart, O God. May I be more like You.'” God is faithful to come in and, “…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). Let’s pray that God do what He needs to do in our hearts, because out of the heart the mouth speaks and the actions thereafter occur. Let us pray that God change our hearts so that the only place we turn is to Him. –To Him —Jesus for everything we desire.
