But Ittai replied to the king, “As surely as the Lord lives, and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king may be, whether it means life or death, there will your servant be.” ~ 2 Samuel 15:21

This is the heart God wants. Trust. Sometimes we want the outcomes that we want out of our lives or even the lives of others. But what if we said like this servant said to king David, “wherever my lord the king may be, whether it means life or death, there will your servant be.” Lord, I’ll follow you. The outcomes are none of my business. I just want You. I just like and love being with you. I want to serve you wherever I am. I’m not married to the outcome; I, as a part of the church of God am married to you. I belong to you. I am yours. I am with You and You are with me. Jesus, I’ll follow you. Here I am. I am yours. I love you. You first loved me.

God is a good God. We can trust Him. We can follow Him. No, we don’t need all of this “stuff.” I want the outcome to be/mean Jesus. More Jesus. I confess I’ve had desirable outcomes, but I want to give all of them up and trust that God is leading me in everything, and in that, then knowing that God is my outcome. Hallelujah! Let’s pray that we let God dictate the outcome and that we’ll still say “Praise the Lord!” knowing that He makes all things beautiful and all things good in His (not my own) time. God, you control the outcome.
