Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened (Matthew 7:7-8). Jesus said something amazing here, and He made it very simple. Ask, and it will be given to you. This is the principle; according to the principles God has laid out—so we see a beautiful loop here. Asking with faith pleases God, so whenever you ask believing that it is yours, that is the purpose of God to reveal himself and He does that through your faith in His ability to do the impossible! Even more is persistent faith in asking! The entire nation of Israel was named after this kind of bold unrelenting faith and asking. Jacob would not let go of the angel he wrestled with, he said, “not until you bless me!” (Genesis 32:26). Now we’re getting ambitious! The angel said to him, “What is your name?” He said, “Jacob.” And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but [d]Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.” The asking is the struggle God LOVES. It is definitely God’s will because not only is the entire nation of Israel named after this approach, but Jesus said it plainly. Again, “Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps on asking receives, and he who keeps on seeking finds, and to him who keeps on knocking, it will be opened.” (AMP) God has laid heaven in our hearts (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Ask from the heaven in your heart—“Delight yourself also in the LORD, and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” (Psalm 37:4). Dogmatic Christianity plays this game about the will of God like it’s a theological exam; but in the scripture it is clear. Just walk with God, then ask Him anything. Since the time of Enoch it was that simple. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)
Thank you God that we can approach your throne of grace! Bless your people, I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen!
